- The art medium must be decided upon as the design is created with this material in mind
- The design is input into CorelDraw and prepared based on the material that will be engraved
- The power and speed of the laser engraver are selected based on the material to be engraved
- The design is sent to the laser engraver
- The material is placed in the laser engraver
- The laser engraver is started
